The Events Calendar User CSS

A plugin to allow users to add custom CSS without having to either copy all existing code from TEC/ECP core CSS files or add the correct @import to their custom CSS.

Correctly load {YOUR_THEME}/tribe-events/tribe-events.css, if it exists, using wp_enqueue_style in proper order when using ECP 3.x.

  1. Create a /tribe-events/tribe-events.css file and directory inside your active theme or child theme directory.
  2. /tribe-events/tribe-events.css only needs to contain the override CSS. No CSS code from any core tribe-events CSS file(s) needs to be duplicated.
  3. Upload the entire /the-events-calendar-user-css/ folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
  4. Activate the plugin.

ہرہک دے سوال

Does the plugin require The Events Calendar plugin?

Yes. The Events Calendar plugin is written by Modern Tribe, Inc. It requires at least The Events Calendar/Events Calendar PRO v3.x.

Do I really need this?

No, if you’re using The Events Calendar 3.x all you need to do is create the following structure in your theme’s folder, {YOUR_THEME}/tribe-events/tribe-events.css. This file should contain only the override CSS. It will be loaded automatically by TEC 3.0. If you’re trying to override CSS in Events Calendar PRO 3.x then you may need this plugin as the CSS for ECP is loaded after the automatic loading of tribe-events.css. You may also need this plugin if your theme’s CSS is overriding your changes.

Where can I report bugs?

This plugin works perfectly, does exactly what it claims, and nothing more. The version available at the time that I am writing this review is 1.4.2, and the whole plugin is ten lines of code. I love it.

  • update tested to

  • fix version constant – oops
  • update stable tag to trunk

  • tested to 4.3

  • Removed requirement for ECP as builtin feature of TEC still doesn’t load the override stylesheet after the theme’s stylesheet.

  • Set wp_enqueue priority to PHP_INT_MAX to ensure loading last.

  • Now only works with ECP as there is built-in feature of TEC.

  • Tested with WP 4.0
  • Fixed for changes in latest TEC/ECP 3.7 to remove default override file loading.

  • Tested with WP 3.9 beta
  • Fixed to remove default TEC loading of override file

  • Tested with WP 3.8, it works!

  • Added sanity check to ensure isset( $tec_user_css )

  • TEC 3.0 doesn’t quite do it correctly. They automatically load User CSS before their CSS not after. Now works with either folder/file notation.

  • Only needed for TEC 2.x
  • Will work for TEC 3.0 if you haven’t created the new folder structure. If you’re using TEC 3.0 go ahead, make the change and deactivate this plugin. 😉

  • version bump

  • fixes for TEC 3.0 compliance
  • still backwards compatible with TEC 2.x

  • fixed stupid error in defining constant.

  • vastly simplified plugin by checking for existence of CSS override file in pre-determined location and if present, enqueue loading of file.
  • submitted similar code for review and inclusion into TEC 3.0
  • no longer needs to create separate file with @import statements.
  • enqueue loading of default Events Calendar CSS.

  • prevent tribe-user-css.php from throwing PHP error if loaded directly

  • fixes to readme

  • fixed code that tested for deprecated function get_theme.

  • code cleanup

  • fail message to admin_notices

  • load only with class TribeEvents
  • continuity with fail message
  • test for existence of override files
  • commented out code for Community Events plugin, it seems this is handled internally in the correct manner as of version 1.0.2.

  • bug fix if TEC not active

  • better directions in readme, I hope. This plugin will not create any files or directories.
  • changed deactivate to just warning.
